Orange Movie Review-Something Different :)

I finally got to watch Orange tonight, so I thought I should review it on my own, to make people understand this isn't a bad movie. Orange stars Ram Charan Tej and Genelia in the lead roles and Shazahn Padmasree in a pivotal role . Directed by Bommarilu fame Bhaskar and music is by Harris Jayaraj. This is also Ram's third movie :)

Story: Ram(Ram Charan Tej) is a dude living in Australia and does graffiti. He falls in love with this bubbly, loud girl Jaanu(Genelia). She believes in long lasting love, while he doesn't.But there is a reason for that.....

Ram Charan is cool and stylish in his role :) An awesome performance by him too,he can pull off a lover boy too. :D He makes you want a guy like him :D lol. Genelia, was great like always in her role, but she was literally scary in her intro. Her eyes were huge, and the dubbing by Savitha Reddy was high and her character is just over excited. :( But other than that she is good, but we all have to start understanding that she is actually getting older :P Shazhan is pretty, but all she does is smile. And man! her character is damn possessive! Don't want to be a gal like that! Praneeth was entertaining, with his acting and with his punch dialogue on love :D  Prabhu is woah, whats with the super grey hair? He plays Jaanu's dad, too easy for him :) Bramahanandam is adequate, he wasn't really funny. Madhurima has a cameo. Pooja was a surprise in the beginning, didn't see her coming! :D But she is still pretty :) Nagababu has a short role which he is decent in, his intro is funny :D It was nice to see Srinivas Avasarala again from Astha Chemma! :D Really liked him in AC :) He is really funny here :D Gayathri Rao, who played Appu in Happy Days was scene here is a miniscule role, as Maya, which was too small. Manjula,Mahesh Babu's sis was seen as Ram's sis, not bad, but didn't see her coming.

My thoughts on Cast: The cast is huge! But they all have small roles, we see Ram and Gene in every frame. Ram and Gene made a cute pair, while Ram and Shazahn did too :D

Music: Its a breezy, feel good soundtrack :) Harris proves himself once again :) The picturizations of the songs are cute and stylish :)

Technical Side: The camera work by Raja Sekhar & Kiran Reddy is normal except for the Mumbai flashback part and the Skydiving scene, they're notable :) Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh is super cool! :D

Pros:

  • Cast
  • Music
  • Different Story
  • Editing
  • Good Ending
  • Sweet Lyrics
  • Direction
  • Stylish
  • Flashback
  • Performances of Ram and Gene
  • Choreography was cool
  • Interesting second half
Cons:

  • Normal camerawork
  • Genelia's Intro scene
  • Ram kind of looked tired in some scenes
  • Shazahn's okay acting
  • Huge cast,but small roles

My Thoughts: I really liked the movie because it was a different take on love, and it was also true of why lovers split. You have to understand the logic behind this movie to like it. A ton of people said this movie is bad because it gives a different meaning to love. Well, I have something to say to you, stop living in a utopian world! Welcome to the real world, where love isn't always sweet! Telugu audience just don't have the mindset to understand these types of movies; i honestly think Bhaskar shouldn't have made it in Tollywood, this is Bollywood, Hollywood, or even Kollywood material! Poor guy. :( I really didn't like Gene's lipstick, it was too bright and funky, lol. :D My fav songs were O Ranga,Ola Olaala,Rooba Rooba, and Hello Ramante :) I thought the first half was kind of slow, but it got better has it went to the second half, of where we can understand Ram's character better :)

Videos:
A sweet song :

& a funny scene :

Final: Watch it only if you have an open mind! It shows a different, covered up angle of love.
